Residents of San Miguel Ixtahuacán protest Goldcorp's Marlin Gold Mine

Dozens of community members from Goldcorp-affected communities in San Miguel Ixtahuacán tear down a promotional billboard for the mining company. On Friday, May 22nd, 2009, while Canadian mining giant Goldcorp held its annual shareholder’s meeting in Vancouver, hundreds of community members from San Miguel Ixtahuacán, affected by Goldcorp’s Marlin Mine operations in their territories, held a protest march through the streets of Guatemala City.
