Adolfo Agustín García, 42, from El Volcancito, San Rafael Las Flores, declares to the press at the Public Prosecutors Office to denounce the shooting perpetrated against him and five others by the Escobal Project's security personnel. The six men were walking towards a peaceful protest camp rejecting the mining project on Saturday, April 27, when head security chief Alberto Rotondo, a Chilean citizen, order the shooting. Rotondo was later captured at the Aurora Airport attempting to escape the arrest order issued against him. Meanwhile, the official signing between the Guatemalan Government and Tahoe Resources & Goldcorp's El Escobal Silver mine went ahead as scheduled on April 29th. Guatemala City, Guatemala.
