Isidra Bac, from San Pedro Ayampuc, lays on a hammock outside the entrance to the EXMINGUA gold mine as she prepares to spend her fifth night in protest. Since March 2nd, 2012, local neighbors from San José del Golfo and San Pedro Ayampuc have taken turns to block the entrance to Canadian Radius Gold's local subsidiary EXMINGUA mine. Residents from the communities claim the industrial activity in their territories as illegal since they were not appropriately consulted before the mine began operating.
