Residents of San Miguel Ixtahuacán protest Goldcorp's Marlin Gold Mine

Patrocinia Mejia Perez is one of the eight women accused by Goldcorp of sabotaging the power lines on June 2008. On Friday, May 22nd, 2009, while Canadian mining giant Goldcorp held its annual shareholder’s meeting in Vancouver, hundreds of community members from San Miguel Ixtahuacán, affected by Goldcorp’s Marlin Mine operations in their territories, held a protest march through the streets of Guatemala City.
