Local women, accused of causing a short circuit that interrupted the Marlin gold mine's operations on June 2008, walk towards the Perez home in the Hamlet of Agel. Goldcorp has pressed criminal charges against Gregoria Crisanta Perez and seven other local women. The women have continuously claimed Goldcorp had no right to install the massive electric power line structures in their land plots.
